What a December!!

Wow, did we get snow or what? I don't think we ever had this much snow in one winter since I moved here in "89" let alone one week. I know a lot of folks are stuck at home and not able to venture out and those of you that do I pray for your safety. I have four wheel drive and have been at the store, it has been very quiet here, but the few that I have seen are happy to be able to stop in. My Husband and I tried to make it to Portland this weekend for a Christmas party for one of his offices and to see my twin grandsons but it was like whiteout conditions and we had to turn around just south of Olympia. Took us about 4 1/2 hours to get that far, and would have been very late for that party anyway.
Just a note to let you know we will be closed between Christmas and New Years and are moving across the parking lot. I have been getting ready since it has been so quiet. Lots of new items will be out and am very excited. We will be open again January 2.
Remember that if you are able to get out we are having our last gift wrap day at the store on Dec. 24th. Bring your wrapping and ribbon and we have the tape and goodies and I will help you with those packages. well goodbye for now and will write again.

Well it is now December and all the Holiday lights are beginning to shine. My husband and I went to Seattle after we closed on Saturday and saw the Nutcracker. It was delightful. On Sunday we walked all over downtown. We could see Macy's Star and the Carousel from the window of our hotel. We walked down to the waterfront, up to Pike Street market and over to the Space Needle and took the tram back to our Hotel. The weather was great for this time of year, but I love all the lights and sounds of Christmas. We saw Santa, rode the carousel, and did some shopping. today it is back to work as usual. So here we go:

CKC Oh What fun!!

Oh What fun it is to see familiar faces and play, making fun projects and learning new techniques and ideas at the same time. Bev and I went to CKC in Bellevue this past weekend and look who we saw there. Many other familiar faces were seen but the camera was not around. I sure hope you had as much fun as I did. There were so many people there all for the love of paper crafting. Some even came from far distances like Lynn above with Bev and I from the mid west.

Now that we are back we will be starting to work on some holiday projects. Keep watching for some ideas at the store and on the blog. The Christmas papers and embelishments are arriving at the store and we will be getting them out as soon as possible. In the mean time we still have plenty of Halloween and fall papers and embelishments to capture those great pumpkin and fall leaves pictures in your pages. Come see what we have.

Just a note that all Graduation is our 20% off special of the week so come on in and get yours today. Have a great day!!!

What a successful day!!

I just have to say Congratulations to Lila for a wonderfully successful event today!

I just got home! I am exhausted, but so exhilarated by the day at Lila's store. How exciting it was to see all the activity there. I didn't get to arrive til about noon. The store was already busy with a demo by Elisa, a designer from Clear Scraps. She brought samples of Clear Scraps acrylics and showed us how to emboss them and then use alcohol inks on them. The samples turned out beautifully. We now have them hanging in the front window where the sun catches the colors. Everyone was excited to watch her work.

Gwen showed everyone a different way to use alcohol inks by blending them on glossy papers. She also brought the new metallic inks to use. They were quite a hit. The samples she left are so beautiful. All the colors together are pretty amazing.

Margaret demo'd a tree punch and showed customers how to make a luminary. Everyone got quite creative with it, and each one was just a bit different. It was a beautiful item for everyone to take home.

There were times the aisles were so crowded it was hard to get thru. It really was a fun day. Lila planned it out very well. There was always something to see or do. Plus there seemed to be a drawing going on all the time. note: Make sure you check back in this week to see if you won something.

Overall, I just want to say what a great day it was. What great activities there. What a great first year it's been! Let's hope for lots more!

Congrats Lila!!!

The word home at the top can mean several things and one could be a picture of a new home or one you are moving from, perhaps it is where you grew up. 2nd could mean that family is where your home is and family is what you make your page into. Maybe it has another reason to you, send back a posting letting me know what home means to you. Everyone who sends me a posting will go into a drawing for a free page layout. Just click on the comment now and leave your comments and name. Looking forward to hearing from you!! Store Friends

It's almost a year ago that Lila opened her store. It's been less than that since I found it. Tracy found it before me (lucky gal!). In that time we've both stopped by the store, hung out at times, come for crops, come for coffee, chatted, shared, and made friends. After multiple crops together at the store where we spent the evening sharing and laughing and just enjoying each others company, Tracy invited us to her family's cabin. It was months ago that we set the weekend. Last weekend was it. The 3 of us packed our cropping bags and traveled over to the peninsula to spend a couple nights.

It was so fun!! Well, I have to say the drive over wasn't so fun. It was dark and rainy and traffic was thick. But along the way we stopped for dinner and finally made it to the cabin in time to collapse into bed. The nest day we scrapped adn then went out to enjoy the sights. The trees were turning beautiful fall colors. There was open water everywhere. We stopped at the winery for a few tastes. We got some souvenirs and headed back to scrap some more for the evening. The next morning we kept scrapping while we ate some breakfast and then packed up to head home.

What fun we had. Three friends who met at the scrapbook store. Who would have thought!! So the point of my post???? Come join us at Lila's. You just never know. Maybe you'll get to be friends with some other scrappers and get to have your own weekend of scrapping somewhere fun. Maybe you'll get to join us next time!

PS I haven't even shared this pic with Lila or Tracy yet, so enjoy!
