Sketch Class with Melanie on Saturday

Do your scrap pages sometimes ending up all looking the same? Join Melanie on Saturday at 10:30 am and she will show you a number of ways to alter one sketch to make three completely different pages.

For your $20 class fee you will receive everything to make the three two page layouts shown as well as the sketch and personal instruction on the techniques used.

You must preregister for the class so Melanie can be prepared. Please bring a basic class kit (paper cutter, adhesives, etc) and Stickles if you have any.

Can't make the class, but love the projects? Check in the store after Saturday's class and see if there are any kits still available for $20.

Prince Charming - who is your Prince Charming? A son, husband, dad, brother, or maybe even your puppy? My son Micah was mine.

Memories - this page actually comes with a whole page of letters so you can create any title you like. The classy flowers will look great on a prom, formal dance, engagement or date night page.

Fall Fun Sketch Layout!

Come into the store and Lila will teach you how to make a similar layout out of any papers you choose! When you buy the paper she will give you the sketch to keep. Hold onto those sketches, I use my sketch book all the time (if you see me, Melanie, at a crop just ask to see it, I won't leave home without it!).

Do you love this layout just the way it is? Lila will have a couple kits of these papers, embellishments and the die cut "Fall Fun" title in just a few days.

Sketch day!

When I scrap I like to fit a lot of pictures on my layouts! If you are like me then you definately want the sketch for this 2 page spread. Even cutting it down to a one page layout will help you scrap a number of pictures without being too cluttered. To get this sketch just come into the store and buy any papers you want to use with the sketch. There will be kits for this exact project available later in the week.

New Sketch Layout

Have you tried the Tim Holz Crackle Paint? It's really fun! And it's so thick that you can use it over any base color.

A bit late, but come buy your own papers for the sketch, or buy a kit to make a layout like this one (both LOs use the exact same papers, or could make many other versions as well).

It's Sketch Layout day again!

Come into Lila's today and buy the papers (any papers; for a baby, a girl, your favorite sport, whatever sort of layout you need to make with roughly this many pictures) to make your own version of the below layout and you will receive a copy of the sketch. You can also see Melanie's other example featuring seven pictures and lots of hidden journaling. Sketches are a flexible way to jumpstart your creativity, come try one!

After today there will be kits available to make this layout using these supplies.

Sketch Layout Day!

Have you been to the Tulip Festival this year? This layout was designed with those pictures in mind; with minimal patterned paper so the beautiful pictures can shine! If you don't have tulip pictures this versatile sketch can be used with any papers you choose to make a layout you will love.

On sketch layout day you will receive a scrapbook sketch to help you build this layout if you buy the papers to try the sketch (for this one, 4 sheets of cardstock and 3 patterned papers).

Remember, sketches are just a tool to use to get started. Here I used the same basic structure, but increased all the square sizes to better fit my photos.

Have you ever used a sketch?

A sketch is a simple drawing of a scrapbook layout that outlines an idea of where to place photos, papers and embellishments.

Lila's always has a sketch and sketch based layout featured in her store (usually on the front table) and a number of examples from the past (on the back bulletin board and in an album you can ask to see).

This Easter page is her current sketch layout. If you purchase paper to make this layout (2 background cardstock, one other cardstock, optional photo mat cardstock, and 2 different patterned papers) you may ask for a copy of this sketch for free. She can also build you a kit that includes all the embellishments, ribbons and these papers if you ask.

But a sketch is just a starting point. Change your layout to meet your needs! Here I switched the pages around, added another picture and some journaling, and turned one photo.
