National Scrapbook Day on Saturday the 2nd

I am writing to let you now about what is going on Saturday. We are having Jeri Grazier coming between 12- 3

Jeri says "Spend a few minutes with me and explore new ways to put together your cards and scrapbook pages. With a great stamp, terrific paper and a few tools, you can make an original piece of art. We will explore the image, decipher the best way to cut the paper to maximize the story and make something truly original. We will explore the elements of color, line, placement, visual imagery and accents that take a card from a "sound bite" to "the rest of the story". "

Along with Jeri coming we will be having another stash bash and from what i see there will be lots of great bargains that customers are unloading at great prices. This will be all day.

In addition we will be having a couple of make -n takes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon also plenty of door prizes and some neat bags from Karen Foster with goodies from other companies in them.

From 11-3 my husband will be there cooking hotdogs, so join us for lunch and a good time.

Friday's Quickie Page

Been to the Aquarium lately? If not maybe you are planning on going some rainy day. Well these pages are just the thing to add those great photo's to. Remember that Friday's Quickie pages are only $7.00 on Friday, after that if we have any left or I get a chance to make more, the kits are available for purchase for $8.49 with directions to take home for a later date when you get the photo's.

Today' Make a Card

Today's card "Congratulations" makes a great Wedding, Anniversary, etc. card. Inside I stamped "May your home be filled with lots of love".

Today is going to be a sunny day and we all know we needed that. So what are you doing today? Tomorrow is also going to be nice and my husband and I are going to the tulip fields. If you are planning on going then save those photo's as Melanie is planning a new sketch layout for you using photo's from the tulip fields. Check the blog and store in a couple of weeks to see it. Right now her latest sketch and layout are at the store and below, check it out, it is really cute for Easter photo's. She also made cards with the left over papers.

After you spend the day out doors, we are having a crop and we still have room. It starts at 4 pm. If you are enjoying the weather come a little late, but please call to let me know you want to join in the fun so we can save you a spot.

Have you ever used a sketch?

A sketch is a simple drawing of a scrapbook layout that outlines an idea of where to place photos, papers and embellishments.

Lila's always has a sketch and sketch based layout featured in her store (usually on the front table) and a number of examples from the past (on the back bulletin board and in an album you can ask to see).

This Easter page is her current sketch layout. If you purchase paper to make this layout (2 background cardstock, one other cardstock, optional photo mat cardstock, and 2 different patterned papers) you may ask for a copy of this sketch for free. She can also build you a kit that includes all the embellishments, ribbons and these papers if you ask.

But a sketch is just a starting point. Change your layout to meet your needs! Here I switched the pages around, added another picture and some journaling, and turned one photo.

This is the fun rub-on "Glitter Foil Flock" that is featured just inside the door. It's easy to use, there are lots of designs and colors to choose from, and it adds a nice touch to your project.

Friday's Quickie Page

Friday's page is "Are we There Yet?" I have several ways of travel that you can choose from to add to your page.(see below) Join me Friday to make this layout, no need to bring anything with you, glue is here just stop in anytime during the day and put your layout together. want to wait till you get the photo's and cut the picture pieces to your own sizes?, no problem pick up a kit and take it with you, same if you don't have time to do it here you can take it home.

Tuesday's Card

Today's card is a baby card. Tha card reads "Bundle of joy". cards are ready for you to put together and comes with an envelope for only $1 ea. Need more than 2 please call ahead so I can prepare extra's, thanks. Next week is a Wedding card.
